Save Lumpy!

In 2011, the first hand-drawn Winnie the Pooh movie in six years will be released. "The movie is being produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. This marks the first time in more than 35 years that a Winnie the Pooh motion picture is being produced at Walt Disney Animation Studios. Under the supervision of John Lasseter and producer, Clark Spencer ("Lilo & Stitch," "Bolt") the movie is due out in theaters spring 2011. Steve Anderson ("Meet the Robinsons") and Don Hall (head of story on "The Princess and The Frog") will co-direct. Burny Mattinson who worked as an animator on the original Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree featurette in 1964 will serve as the lead story artist on the project."

In 2005, Lumpy the Heffalump melted our hearts when he busted onto the screen in "Pooh's Heffalump Movie." His exuberance, loyalty, and silliness were the essence of an innocent childhood. Fans of the purple Heffalump, Heffridge Trumpler Brompet Heffalump the Fourth, need to join together to ensure Lumpy is in the film. It is possible that Disney will make this new Pooh film a direct sequel to the original, which would cut Lumpy out. If you're a fan of this heartwarming, purple Heffalump please express it by signing the petition and letting Disney know that Lumpy should be in the 2011 Winnie the Pooh sequel!

Please sign my petition!

Then pass this along to all other Pooh and Lumpy fans you know of, as well as posting it at any related Disney news site, blog, or forum! Add it to your signatures on forums, as well!

I am no expert on the matter nor did I see the HeffaLump movie but Hellalumps are not real. Heffalumps were originally created via a nightmare that Pooh had showing Heffalumps and Wuzzles. So, unless Pooh goes back into a honey-induced coma in the new feature there is no need to see Lumpy. He is just a bad dream.

No to Lumpy.
It was okay for the DTV things, but if we're going theatrical again then stick to the originals.
Really Disney fans should be petitioning to ensure that classic characters such as Rabbit and Owl are in and given good roles, rather than the characters which have dominated productions recently and pushed the other characters out.

Say NO! to Lumpy!!!

That's a terrible idea.
Lumpy is a really pointless character and deserves to stay on the Playhouse Disney show/diretc-to-video movies, but NOT for this.

It's a movie about Winnie the Pooh, why can't it be about Winnie the Pooh? If it was about Lumpy, it would be called something like "The Heffalump Movie" or something like that. Oh wait...

Bottom line, DON'T add Lumpy to this movie. We don't need stupid characters ruining the franchise.

Sorry Neal, but count another vote for NO LUMPY
from me.

I hope Disney has the good sense to return to the source material (both Milne and the original Disney featurettes from the 60s ) and eschew the stuff from the various "cheapquels" and tv show versions.

It's confirmed that Lumpy will not be in the film. The filmmakers want to make the movie as true to the originals as possible.

Lumpy, Gopher, and others are reasons they are making a new film. The new franchises stray too much from the source material, so they are kicking it back to what they think it should have been.
